Leap of Faith

The Leap of Faith Initiative: Empowering us to love God, care for each other, and serve the world in new and expanded ways.

After an extensive, inclusive visioning process, the Leap of Faith Initiative was launched in January 2013 to help the people of Christ Church understand and act on God’s call for each of us. Three main focal points were identified, researched and proposed to the entire parish as the impetus for a $9.5 million campaign. Leap of Faith offered a connection between spiritual life and real life, providing the framework for a deeper sense of community, while also addressing major needs in our community in the areas of housing, education and economic justice.

Frequently Asked Questions »

The Leap of Faith initiative had practical implications for our annual operating budget by relieving the interest obligation resulting from the 2007 purchase of four properties along Providence Road. Leading up to Leap of Faith, Christ Church had experienced tremendous growth and strong stewardship momentum following the economic challenges that hit Charlotte in 2008 and 2009. With a vibrant, growing parish, room to expand, and buy-in from clergy, the Vestry and other lay leadership, the future was firmly in view and in need of funds. The Leap of Faith campaign was warmly received by the congregation, and pledges totaling more than $9.5 million were committed in a matter of months.
