Baptisms

Baptism is one of the primary sacraments of the Christian faith.

"Holy Baptism is the sacrament by which God adopts us as his children and makes us members of Christ's Body, the Church, and inheritors of the kingdom of God" (Book of Common Prayer). As baptism marks our membership into the Body of Christ, it is a sacrament celebrated when the other members are present, usually on Sunday mornings.

Infant Baptism
At Christ Church, infant baptisms are held on the traditional days for baptism in the liturgical calendar (Feast of the Baptism of our Lord, Easter Eve, The Day of Pentecost, All Saints' Sunday) as well as other Sundays. At each service we limit the number of babies being baptized to six, with the exception of a dedicated baptism service on Easter Saturday. An instruction class for parents and godparents is held the day before Sunday baptisms, usually at 4 pm (sometimes changed to 10 am when a wedding occurs on the same day). If your are expecting or recently welcomed a new baby, we'd love to know about it! Please use this form to update your family information »

Adult Baptism
We also offer baptisms for adults and older children during Sunday worship. Adults and children being baptized will meet with one of the clergy before the baptism for instruction.
