Statement on the Death of Queen Elizabeth II
We share in grief with the people of the United Kingdom and world upon the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, who also served as head of the Church of England, with whom we are joined in the larger Anglican Communion.
Elizabeth’s 70-year reign offered the world an example of servant leadership marked by dignity, steadfastness, and grace, informed by her deep faith in God. She openly talked about the importance of faith in her life of service to God and country.
Tomorrow (Friday) evening at 6:30 pm in the Church, we will hold a Service of Evening Prayer in memoriam, with music by choir and string quartet.
"O God, whose mercies cannot be numbered: Accept our prayers on behalf of your servant Elizabeth, and grant her an entrance into the land of light and joy, in the fellowship of your saints; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen."
