Love God.
Care for Each Other.
Serve the World.
Christ Church is a spiritual home with a soul purpose: to engage, equip and empower people to love God, care for each other and serve the world in the name of Christ.
Located in the Myers Park neighborhood of Charlotte, North Carolina, our church is a beautiful place, steeped in sacred tradition yet always looking, thinking and moving forward with God’s grace.
In 1943, Christ Church (then known as Christ Church Mission) was formally recognized by the Diocese of North Carolina with 98 families in membership. Today we are a large, diverse Episcopal Church with over 6,000 members of varied spiritual inclinations: conservative and liberal, traditional and charismatic, evangelical and social justice. While we are large in number, our community is very close-knit and connected, and we are deeply committed to serving and advocating for justice in our city, nation, and world.
Our Vision
We aspire to be Christ's Church in the world.
Our Mission
To engage, equip and empower people to love God, care for each other and serve the world in the name of Christ.
Our Core Values
We are a Christ-centered Episcopal church rooted in scripture, tradition and reason; respectful of and strengthened by our differences. We are committed to being a loving community of support and spiritual growth; being faithful stewards of God's many blessings; and using God's gifts to serve the needs of our community and world. We are inspired by the belief that with God's help we will accomplish whatever God calls us to do. (Adopted by the Vestry, 2007)
