Education For Ministry
What is EFM? EFM is a four-year course of study in theological bible study and reflection. The seminar group is the nucleus of the EFM program and the group meets weekly September-May. Every baptized person is called to ministry. During the Service of Confirmation we ask God to "Renew in these your servants the covenant you made with them at Baptism." Send them forth in the power of the Spirit to perform the service you set before them. The Education for Ministry Program provides people with an opportunity to discover how to respond to the call to Christian Service and carry out their ministries. As disciples of Christ, we often face the difficult and often subtle task of interpreting the richness of the church's faith in a complex and confusing world. Theological education through EFM develops our faith and also trains us to express that faith in day-to-day events. Through study, prayer, and reflection, participants move toward a new understanding of the fullness of God's kingdom. Hear to what EFMers at Christ Church say about their experience: “It is the most meaningful and in-depth study I have ever done.“ “I have learned to ask the hard questions and delve into scripture with the background that I have always wanted to know.” “Learning how to reflect theologically has changed the way I process information—I now can filter ideas and decisions through the lens of my faith.” “I wish I had started EFM 10 years ago!” Do you want to know more about EFM?
