Pastoral Worship Services

In the context of worship, we can grow to know Christ Church more and more as our spiritual home. There are services each week and throughout the year that specifically focus on personal, pastoral concerns of parishioners.

Wednesday Eucharist and Healing Service at Noon
Every Wednesday at Noon, a beautiful service is held in our chapel. It's a special opportunity during the middle of the week to worship, take communion, and receive personal prayers for healing of yourself or loved ones. It is a Holy Eucharist with Healing Prayers.

In an intimate and quiet setting, there's a meaningful homily, prayers for healing, communion, and if a person desires, they can go to the alter and have a Laying on of Hands and the Anointing of Oil. At difficult times in my life, the special prayers have particularly helped me. At other times, the peace, quiet, and spirituality have refreshed me and reconnected me. The service is not long, only about 40 minutes. You can come as you are, straight from the office, the garden, or the kitchen. I have known people who have come into the chapel feeling sad, sick or discouraged, only to leave feeling hopeful and blessed. I have come with troubles of my own and have felt such great relief when the priests hands were placed on my shoulders and when prayers, said just for me, were said quietly in my ear. This service is really wonderful for all the times of your life. We are truly blessed to have this chance to be spiritually uplifted during the middle of our busy week, and I urge you to attend!)

Reconciliation of the Penitent
Reconciliation of a Penitent is the rite in which those who repent of their sins may confess them to God in the presence of a priest, and receive the assurance of pardon and the grace of absolution. This sacrament is available upon request to those whose consciences are troubled and those wishing to use it as a means of spiritual growth. The secrecy of the confession is absolute. Appointments for private confession may be scheduled with a member of the clergy. (See BCP pp. 446-452)

All Saints Day Eucharist
On or near November 1st, All Saints Day is celebrated in which the names of all those parishioners and loved ones of parishioners who have died in the previous year are included in the prayers. Parishioners grieving the loss of a family member are invited to a luncheon in the Blue Room following the Eucharist. To learn more about this service or to help with it, contact Gigi Harris or Leighann Swanson.

Honor Thy Father and Mother Worship Service
This special service is offered at the 5:00 PM Sunday Eucharist on a Sunday between Mother's Day and Father's Day. The scripture and prayers serve to honor the deceased parents of parishioners. Opportunity is given to write down the names of parents to be said aloud in the prayers during worship. For more information, contact the Reverend Lisa Saunders at
