Caring for Each Other

The love of God is experienced primarily through other people. Christ Church seeks to be a spiritual home for parishioners and is committed to giving support, prayer, resources and encouragement to meet spiritual, mental and physical needs during times of challenge, illness or transition.

Care Teams
A Care Team is composed of six-fifteen volunteers who offer support and tangible care for an individual or family in our parish facing challenging circumstances. To help with this ministry, contact the Reverend Lisa Saunders at saundersl@christchurchcharlotte.org or
704-714-6952.

Sunshine Guild
Each Monday, members of the Sunshine Guild arrange flowers from Sunday's altar which are delivered to parishioners in the hospital or at home. To join this guild, contact Nancy Morgan at nancyhmorgan@bellsouth.net
or 704-372-1216.

Knit One, Pray Too: Prayer Shawl Ministry
The Prayer Shawl Ministry knits prayer shawls to be blessed and given to parishioners in need of comforting during a difficult time. The group meets on the first and third Thursday of each month from 1:00 to 3:00 PM in St. Francis D. Some members are unable to attend meetings, but they are still contributing by knitting on their own. If you have questions, or would like instructions, please contact Caroline Wilson at ccwilson@carolina.rr.com or 704-554-0020.

Phoebe Guild
Guild members delivers a meal to families with new additions to their family. To serve on the Phoebe Guild, contact Robbie Horn at rhorn@carolina.rr.com or 704-366-3336 or Brenda Clough at brendaclough@live.com or 704-344-8411.

Special Delivery and Special Delivery Luncheon
Expectant mothers receive a packet of helpful information (when and how to schedule a baptism, advice on choosing godparents, how to baby-proof your home, notes on breastfeeding, post-partum depression, local take-out menus, and a Good News Shop discount card!). After the baby is born, another special delivery is made which includes a tote bag, devotional book for mom, book and bear for baby and list of other babies born recently in the church.

Twice a year a luncheon is held at the church for expectant and new mothers. To learn more about this ministry, the next luncheon or to serve as a Special Deliverer, contact Beth Burris at bburris@gmail.com or 704-719-3049.

In each Sunday's bulletin, the names of expectant mothers are listed and prayers are said for them. If you would like to add a name to the list, contact Christy Letanosky at letanoskyc@christchurchcharlotte.org or 704-333-0378.

Career Transition
Changing careers or jobs puts us in a vulnerable situation, whether we make the change by choice or not. Your spiritual home seeks to be a place of support, prayer, resources and encouragement through this transition. Click to go to the Career Transition page.

Friends and Visitors
Church members are linked with homebound parishioners and make contact (monthly or more often) in person or by phone with their 'friend.' To be linked, contact Betsy Westerberg at elizabethwest5@aol.com or 704-366-3653.
