Keep these words that I am commanding you today in your heart. Recite them to your children and talk about them when you are at home and when you are away, when you lie down and when you rise. Bind them as a sign on your hand, fix them as an emblem on your forehead, and write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates. Deuteronomy 6: 6-9

Christ Church offers educational programs and small group opportunities designed to help you on your spiritual journey. We offer Bible Studies, Small Groups, and workshops. Whether you prefer large lecture classes, small group Bible studies, or short series, you can find a plethora of classes for adults on Wednesday Nights, Sunday Mornings, and throughout the week.
If you can't find what you are looking for on these pages or want to talk about the opportunities at Christ Church, please contact Jenny Beaumont, Director of Adult Spiritual Formation, at beaumontj@christchurchcharlotte.org or 704-714-6945.
Christian Formation for children, youth and adults is a priority for us at Christ Church. The journey toward living a full life as a disciple of Christ and acting in his name in is changing one filled with growth and challenge. We strive to meet you where you are in your journey and draw you closer to God.
Children Children are quite special to us at Christ Church. We offer a variety of programs to help them grow in their faith, learn the stories of the Bible and become an active participant in our church community. Sunday mornings are filled with Sunday School classes, Godly Play and the Discovery Eucharist. Each of these opportunities is designed with children in mind. We have quite a dedicated group of teaching team members who lead our Sunday school classes. On Wednesday evenings, we offer several options for our Kindergartners through fifth graders to learn while their parents enjoy the vast array of adult offerings. Throughout the year we are always up to something. Whether it's Vacation Bible School, Community Building Activities, Christmas Pageant, Family Fun Nights, Blessing of the Backpacks, Advent Festival, or Fourth Grade Bible Presentations, our goal is to provide children and their families a way to celebrate their faith and how it touches all aspects of their lives.
Youth For youth we offer programs to meet young people where they are in their spiritual journey. The programs are designed around three areas: Love God, Care For One Another and Serve the World. Sunday morning brings the Youth Snack Shack and The Journey to Adulthood Program. Wednesday Evenings offer EYC and Life Groups for youth from 6th grade through 12th grade. Mission trips, outings and beach and ski trips round out the program.
Adults For adults we offer classes in Theology, The Bible, Faith and Real Life and Spirituality. On Sundays and Wednesdays you will find a myriad of offerings, both small groups and larger ones designed to help you continue your faith journey. Some of these classes are one time offerings that stand alone; others are short series that provide an opportunity to go deeper. Through the week you will find over 30 small groups that gather for study, prayer, service or fellowship. These small groups are good way to get connected at Christ Church.
In her book, "The Dream of God," Verna Dozier writes:
It is comforting for the church to declare the Bible as the Word of God instead of taking seriously what the Bible says,"...that Jesus himself is the Word of God. It is troubling to consider that God did not become incarnate as a book, but as a person." How troubling if God came as a person and not a book! And if that Person is eternally living, eternally in communication with God's people, one age can eternally say to another, "Your understanding is not my understanding. God has a new word to say to us."
Christian education at Christ Church is about coming to know Jesus Christ and following him. The following web pages will introduce you to our programs. If you have questions please feel free to contact the staff persons listed below. We would welcome the opportunity to help you find the right programs and classes for you.
