Wednesday Night Programs - EYC is Back in the Swing (back to top)

The Youth Team is super psyched that Wednesday night EYC (Episcopal Youth Community) is back with a bang! The Middle Schoolers started off the year with a fun filled night of food, fellowship, "bouncies," singing and games. This year's program will consist of Old Testament teachings (which, yes, are relevant and cool!) about how to be in right relationship with God and with our peers. Together we'll strive to perfect the art of fellowship! We meet from 6:30-8:00 PM every Wednesday, starting with dinner in All Saints Hall (dinner is $8). Come join the fun! High Schoolers have split up into small "Life Groups," meeting in parishoners' homes from 7:00-8:00 PM each week. Life Group leaders facilitate conversation and relationship building as our Youth delve into issues they deem most relevant to their faith life. Life Groups continue to be an awesome community of support AND laughter during those difficult High School years and beyond! If you have questions about how to get plugged in with EYC, give us a shout... Lauren Robbins can be reached at 704-714-6970 or robbinsl@christchurchcharlotte.org.

Ski Trip Success in 2010 (back to top)

Both Middle School and High School ski trips were over the top awesome this year, even when we had to postpone for bad weather. About 100 kids and adults traveled to Winter Place, West Virginia in January. Lots of our kids have become quite the snow boarding experts! And our more traditional skiers had a blast too. It may not have been the Olympics, but we could pretend! The High School bunch intended to travel to Wintergreen, Virginia the first week in February, but a ton of snow in the Charlottesville area forced us to wait for the last week in February instead, when we were rewarded with perfect conditions! Clear skies, sunshine and lots of snow. My favorite thing to report at the end of both trips were stories of kids forging new friendships across schools and grade levels. Nothing brings youth together like hours on a charter bus. We also enjoy having Church outside of Church. Whether it is Compline in a hotel conference room, or Morning Prayer in the parking lot, these adventures remind us that God is everywhere. Click here for pics from the trips
