Vacation Bible School Information - June 17th - 20th (back to top)

Vacation Bible School is right around the corner! We are so excited to spend four days of fun with you and your children. We will TURN IT UP! and learn all about God's one big love for us!

Here are some details you need to know:

- We will meet June 17th - 20th from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM each day. Please look for a mailing with important information about a week and a half before VBS.
- We cannot take any more rising 4th/5th graders due to transportation and ratio needs. You are more than welcome to sign them up for the wait list.
- All teen helper slots are filled. Thanks for the overwhelming interest!

Can We Quote You On That? Sunday School Volunteer Opportunities For 2013-14 (back to top)

Here are the ways in which you can lead our children next year:

• Children’s Sunday School - The Children and Family Commission assists in finding loving adults to teach our 2-years-old through 6th grade classes, and more than 900 children. We are looking for willing volunteers to teach our 2-years-old through 6th grade Sunday school classes. Each class consists of a teaching team that consists of four lead teachers and two assistants each. • Jr. Youth Connect (JYC) - Jr. Youth Connect is a new program created for the 4th and 5th graders of Christ Church to help them connect to their community, God, and the world. JYC meets on Sunday evenings from 5:00 – 6:30 PM. Contact Lindsay Full at 704-714-6971 if you would like to help lead this group.
• Sunday School Music – Sunday mornings also provide us with a chance to teach our children music which strengthens what they learn in the classroom. We would like to form four teams of singers and musicians- each team servings once a month- to lead our 2 years olds through 4th graders. If you’re looking for a place to practice your musical talents, this could be the place for you.
• Sunday School Art – A new component for the 2013-2014 school year for our 1st through 3rd graders. We are looking for a team of eight parishioners to help us explore art in the Bible. Our goal is to provide a balance of hands-on activities and other activities that will help children explore different artist’s expressions of some of our stories of faith. If you love art and children, you’ll be perfect for providing leadership in this area during the Sunday School hour. 

Summer Sundays In Children's Ministry (back to top)

The summer schedule at Christ Church differs from that of the regular program year. Please join us on Sundays during the 10:30 AM service time for offerings for your children. 

Godly Play is a creative way to teach the stories of the Bible to children ages 3 and up. We meet in rooms M212 and M213 at 10:25 AM most Sundays.

On the second Sundays of June, July, and August, we will hold our Discovery Eucharist in All Saints' Hall. The Discovery Eucharist is a special, abbreviated service perfectly designed for families with young children. It helps to teach children the liturgy of the church while offering a short children's homily and child friendly songs. Dates for the Discovery Eucharist during summer 2013 are June 9th, July 14th, and August 11th. 

Please note: On Sundays when we have Discovery Eucharist, there will not be Godly Play. We encourage families to worship together on those days.
