Register NOW for Vacation Bible School: June 22 - 25
Postcards were previously mailed to families indicating each child's Sunday School classroom and teaching team. If you did not receive one, or if you have questions, please contact Anne Cullen at email@example.com or 704-714-6944, or Emily Kalmbach at firstname.lastname@example.org or 704-714-6956.
This worship service is designed for families with young children. It is abbreviated in length, but not in liturgical content. The homily is written specifically for children, the creeds and prayers are worded for young minds, and the hymns/songs are easy to sing.
"Discovery" is a wonderful way to attend church as a family and introduce our youngest parishioners to the beauty of worshiping together.
Children also serve as our “Young Ministers” each Sunday by helping light altar candles, dress clergy in stoles, carry the cross, etc. To sign your child up as a Young Minister, click the link below. Please email Katherine Vest at email@example.com with any questions.
Godly Play is offered every Sunday at 8:40 AM in M213 for children ages 3 and up. Godly Play presents the stories of the Bible in a creative, multi-sensory way. Godly Play was inspired by a Montessori teaching style and asks “wondering questions” of children to encourage imaginative thinking. Each Bible story is told with the aid of handmade wooden figures that represent the people, places and ideas being discussed. In addition to the lesson of the day, they follow the liturgical calendar (“how the Church tells time”) and experience the symbolic importance of each item on the communion altar. Parents bring their children to our story room by 8:40 AM so they can attend 8:45 AM worship. Children are brought back to their families in the Church near the conclusion of the service.
Consider the call as a Storyteller! Could you occasionally share 45 minutes of your Sunday morning with our youngest parishioners? Godly Play wants you! All materials are provided, and our experienced Godly Play team will set you up with everything you need to know. Please inquire with Katherine Vest at firstname.lastname@example.org or 704-714-6941.

LAST GATHERING OF THE YEAR!
Sunday, April 19, Time TBA
We believe the best way to learn music is to make music. Since Sunday morning is often the time when most of our children are on campus, we will offer Rock the Church as a formational element of learning God’s love.
Rock the Church aims to teach students how to learn and perform music. The song selection will vary widely, from upbeat to gospel/blues, to the traditional Lord’s Prayer and Doxology. Directed by our entire music team, this core music curriculum aligns with the Episcopal Lectionary, giving our children an opportunity to sing and pray together in the context of the larger community at Christ Church.
