Postcards were previously mailed to families indicating each child's Sunday School classroom and teaching team. If you did not receive one, or if you have questions, please contact Anne Cullen at firstname.lastname@example.org or 704-714-6944, or Emily Kalmbach at email@example.com or 704-714-6956.
This worship service is designed for families with young children. It is abbreviated in length, but not in liturgical content. The homily is written specifically for children, the creeds and prayers are worded for young minds, and the hymns/songs are easy to sing.
"Discovery" is a wonderful way to attend church as a family and introduce our youngest parishioners to the beauty of worshiping together.
Children also serve as our “Young Ministers” each Sunday by helping light altar candles, dress clergy in stoles, carry the cross, etc. All fall dates are currently full, but if you would like to receive notice when a spot opens or have first access to the winter sign-up sheet, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. This program for children ages 3+ presents the stories of the Bible in a creative, multi-sensory approach. Godly Play was inspired by a Montessori teaching style and asks “wondering questions” of the children to encourage imaginative thinking. Parents bring their children to our story room before 8:45 AM worship, and we bring them back to meet you near the conclusion of the service. Contact Katherine Vest at email@example.com .if you have questions.

We believe the best way to learn music is to make music. Since Sunday morning is often the time when most of our children are on campus, we will offer Rock the Church as a formational element of learning God’s love.
Once a month, on Sunday mornings from 10:15 – 10:55 AM, our two-, three-, and four-year-olds and Kindergarten through fourth grade students will gather to sing, play, and prepare their own offerings of music in worship. We’ll teach and perform music that students love to sing and our congregation will enjoy hearing. Music will vary widely, from upbeat to gospel/blues, as well as the traditional Lord’s Prayer and Doxology. Directed by our entire music team, our core music curriculum will align with the Episcopal Lectionary, giving our children an opportunity to sing and pray together in the context of the larger community at Christ Church.
