Christ Church's 25th Habitat For Humanity House (back to top) 25th Christ Church Habitat For Humanity House Being Built In Honor of Aimee Norman - The time has come to sign up to build this year’s Christ Church Habitat House and we need you! 2012 also marks the 25th year that Christ Church has built a Habitat House. We can think of no better way to mark this wonderful occasion than to honor our own Director of Outreach, Aimee Norman, with this year’s build. Aimee is dedicated to all things outreach, but she has a special love for Habitat. Several years ago when she first started working with outreach at Christ Church, Aimee was instrumental in getting many Christ Church parishioners involved in Habitat for Humanity. Please help us honor Aimee and sign-up to serve! Construction begins on Thursday, February 23rd; Friday February 24th, and Saturday, February 25th and it will continue all Saturdays from 9:00 AM - Noon through Saturday, May 5th (minus the Saturday prior to Easter). We need people to minister in the following areas: wall framing, roofing, plumbing, electrical, siding, drywall, painting interior and exterior, tile and hardware installation, concrete driveway, lunch making/serving, kick-off party planning and dedication at completion. We also need new crew leaders and people to help clean-up each Saturday. You can come by the office or go here to download and fill out the Habitat Volunteer form. This helps give us a sense of everyone’s skill set and schedules. Please return all forms to the front desk.
Men’s Shelter of Charlotte (back to top) Need hours with your Confirmand? Want a family friendly project? Christ Church assists the homeless shelter 3 nights monthly the 1st Sunday, 2nd Friday and 4th Thursday all year round. We need volunteers on February 5th, 10th, 23rd and March 4th, 9th, 22nd. Volunteer ministers serve on a team of 5-8 parishioners who serve by assisting with check-in, passing out blankets and ladling food at the Shelter from 5:30 - 7:15 PM. Room In The Inn (back to top) Every Sunday night from December through March, Christ Church hosts and feeds 12 homeless neighbors (men, women and children). We are still in need of people to serve on March 11th. There are many great opportunities for small groups and for individuals. Habitat Kick-Off Dinner - February 16th (back to top) Habitat Kick-Off Dinner is Thursday, February 16th at 6:00 PM in The Blue Room. Come and enjoy some delicious barbecue and fellowship. To attend, please RSVP to Sarah Brincefield at brincefields@christchurchcharlotte.org by Monday, February 13th so we know how much food to have. All family members are welcome to attend.
Summer Trip to Costa Rica - July 21st - 29th (back to top) We still have a few adult spaces on our second trip (with youth and adults) to Costa Rica this summer, July 21st through July 29th.
