Consider Your Call Each Christian has God-given abilities, skills and passions to use in ministry. Each Christian also has a specific function in the body of Christ. We all fit somewhere, but no one fits everywhere. There's a big difference. All Christians are called into doing something using their unique God given gifts. Not everyone is called to teach youth, work at the homeless shelter or sing in the choir. However, God calls all of us to use our gifts. We don?t believe that God ever intended "church" to be a spectator sport. So, how do you go about deciding where God is calling you to serve at Christ Church? You pray. Read scripture. Listen for where you heart is stirred. Read this Consider your Call Ministry Guide. Pray some more. Ask questions of people already serving in those areas. Talk to your friends or spouse about where they might see your gifts being used. Think about trying something that is slightly out of your comfort zone. Pray each day during Lent. Decide to try something new - just once. Know that Christ Church will help equip you for whatever you are being called to do. On Easter Sunday bring your card, place it the offering plate, and we will give thanks and praise for where each lay minister believes they are called to serve. You are needed to be the hands, feet, eyes, ears and all the parts of the body for the Lord. Without you, we may be missing an eye. Without your gifts, the feet may not walk as they should. Each of you has a special function in the Body of Christ. If we are not all using our gifts to the glory of God, then there is work on earth that isn't been accomplished as it should. When we each find our true ministry we are inspired, filled with joy and energy, and continue to build up the body of Christ by being His hands and feet in the world.
