Jan 6    For Better, For Worse: Caring for your marriage 
    If you were married before 1970, join others married over 35 years to learn     about the issues, joys and challenges of caring for your marriage.  The Reverend Clay and Jane Turner, married in 1961, and marriage enrichment educators, will join us. 

Jan 20    For Better, For Worse: Caring for your marriage 
    If you were married in the 1980's, join others married the same decade to learn about the issues, joys and challenges of caring for your marriage.  Roger Edwards, a marriage counselor, will join us.

Jan 27    For Better, For Worse: Caring for your marriage 
    If you were married in the new millennium, join others married this century to learn about the issues, joys and challenges of caring for your marriage.  The Rev. Chip Edens will lead this class.


Feb 3    Depression in Adults 
    Depression is an insidious disease, often misunderstood and misdiagnosed.  Christ Church parishioner Beth Purdy will tell her story of dealing with depression, joined by expert in the field, psychiatrist Dr. Fred Caudill.


Feb 17    Keeping Your Faith When Your Life is Coming Apart 
    In the midst of pain, loss and disappointment, we often question our faith or find our spiritual life shaken.  The Reverend Dr. Sarah Reith, spiritual  offers both the “whys” and ways to keep the faith. 


Feb 24    Depression in Children and Teenagers 
    How can we tell the difference between sadness and depression in children and teenagers?  Christ Church parishioner Beth Purdy, whose depression began in her teens, shares her story.  She is joined by Barrie Morganstein Ph.D., child and teen psychologist.

 
Mar 30    Blended Families
 
    When two families come together, the stresses and blessings are many.  Christ Church parishioners, Jane and Howard Duvall, share what they have learned in 20 years of step-parenting and blending their families.  They will be joined by Jan Keny, LPC, who counsels children of divorce.
 

April 13    Honoring veterans, those on active duty and their families

    Today’s speaker is Dr. Paul Perlik, Charlotte hand surgeon, is also Lt. Col. Dr. Paul Perlik.  He volunteered to serve 4 months of 2007 in Afghanistan.  Paul and Leslie’s son is a recent West Point graduate and on active service. 

 

May 4    Health Resources: Who, What, Where 
     A one hour "Health Fair" to learn more about the methods, practices and locations of various health resources in our community.
 

May 11    The Ministry of Grandparenting  
    Grandparenting is a gift.  Questions of discipline, boundaries and nurturing relationships are important to consider.
