WHO ARE THE SAGES AND WHAT DO THEY DO?
About seven years ago a group of parishioners restarted and named the Sages. Our aim is to offer four varied activities each year to help create a sense of community for those members of Christ Church who are 60 and above. We want to promote a sense of belonging and a chance to have some fun together. Please join us!!!
Call Marnie Rodgers, 704-366-4010, if you have any suggestions, questions, or would like to help. Do come and be a part of our group!!

Senior Ministry Update
What a fabulous year we have had creating this important Commission for our church membership! As you know, we started out as a small, hard working committee assigned to instantly be a commission and then do what the others were asked to do last spring. We came up with our five year goals and then implemented the first one. We spent the summer creating our five page questionnaire, mailed it, and are now processing the results. We had such a good response (about 40%), that we will not do the follow up calls we had hoped to do. We will send out a summary letter to all of our 750 members whom we know to be sixty years or older (there will be extra copies in the church office for those Sages who prefer not to say you are in our age group). We hope to put that letter together soon and will mail it possibly by late February. Anyone who had hoped we would call, please feel free to contact Barbara Wells, Sis Cranz, or myself. We would be so glad to speak to you!
Our Sages Program Committee organized a day trip last spring, held two wonderful speaker luncheons this fall, and had a fantastic Christmas party at the Coopers exquisite and gracious home in mid-December. Sages Bridge continues to meet once a month from September through May. We have had such fun building a sense of community and fellowship for our Sages!
Barbara Wells has agreed to be the Commission’s chairman for 2008. She will do a terrific job, and we are lucky to have her! Thank you for the privilege of working with our wonderful committee, vestry and staff liasons.
