Who We Are
Mission Statement :The mission of Christ Church Preschool and Kindergarten, as an integral part of the parish, is to offer a thorough academic program which meets the diverse needs of its students in an environment faithful to the Christian tradition, to provide an educational experience which seeks to prepare each student as an individual to be a contributing member of our society and the Church, and to enable each student to live a creative, humane and compassionate life worthy of a child of God.
CCK is a place for living, learning and helping the student to grow. Each day brings opportunities to play, investigate and to express ideas for every student to develop socially, physically, spiritually, and intellectually. The students enjoy a variety of classroom activities designed to facilitate “whole brain” development, stimulating as many areas of the mind as possible. Among these diverse tools students learn from are: the Lippincott and Phonics methods for language and reading, Physical Education, The Learning Center, Christian Education, Science, Spanish, and Music. Early ethical and spiritual enrichment is a priority with daily devotionals, Bible stories and age –appropriate religious songs prevalent throughout the curriculum. Twice monthly, a member of the clergy leads a chapel service for the four and five –year-olds. Field trips, seasonal performances for parents, and graduation ceremonies for Kindergarteners reward students and aim to give a feeling of accomplishment.
CCK is fully funded by annual tuition and registration income fees, gifts to the CCK Fund and through our annual fundraising campaign. Additionally, CCK joins the Christ Church Children’s Christian Education and Christ Church Nursery in sponsoring a fundraiser to benefit the facilities shared by these groups.
