GoodNews the shop @ Christ Church is pleased to present our new selection of glassware displaying the Christ Church emblem! With a variety of tumblers including 12oz, 16oz and 24oz glasses, and 17oz mugs, these items are the perfect gifts for long-standing and new members, teacher, staff appreciation mementos and more! We are also featuring a wonderful Bridge Table with everything from ACBS Bridge Series books, Bridge at a Glance Quick Reference Guides to beautifully designed (and easy to read) playing cards and score pads. GOODNEWS On Facebook And Twitter GOODNEWS is taking advantage of social media websites Facebook and Twitter to try and promote our store and our story. Facebook and Twitter are free sites that enable us to reach a wide variety of people with a click of a button. If you use these sites, please "like" us on Facebook and "follow" us on Twitter and encourage your friends to do the same. Last year GOODNEWS was able to give away $52,000 to charities that work with women and children. This year our goal is $60,000. By shopping in the store and spreading the word to your friends we can accomplish this goal together!!
Good News Shop "Food To Go Program" Calling all Cooks! The Good News Shop needs TWO HOURS of your time PER MONTH in the church kitchen to prepare and assemble casseroles, soups, breads, etc for their Food-To-Go program. ALL the proceeds of these items go directly into our community locally and globally -- such a quick and easy way to make a meaningful impact. We are in the kitchen cooking every Monday and Tuesday. The shifts are from 8:00 - 10:00 AM and from 10:00 AM - Noon. We would ask you to commit to the same day (First Monday, second Monday, etc) and the same shift through May. Come with a friend! With this donation we will be able to build a much needed storage closet or address the issues with our store climate. Volunteers GoodNews the shop@Christ Church has a wonderful volunteer opportunity for someone to help us keep our records in order! Are you skilled in Quickbooks POS and/or Quickbooks Financial? If so, we are looking for your help on a flexible and/or on-call basis. This would be a great way to use your skills to give back to the community! The Good News Shop is a mission of the Episcopal Church Women of Christ Church. As a private, nonprofit organization, the Shop donates all of its sales proceeds toward grants to worthy nonprofit initiatives focused on the needs of women and children in the local community and abroad. The Good News Shop's main objective is to maximize profits in order to fund these initiatives. In its 34-year-old history, it has donated $500,000 to outreach programs. The Shop also serves as a ministry devoted to building community and fellowship and providing resources for programs at Christ Church.
