The Good News Shop is a mission of the Episcopal Church Women of Christ Church. As a private, nonprofit organization, the Shop donates all of its sales proceeds toward grants to worthy nonprofit initiatives focused on the needs of women and children in the local community and abroad. The Good News Shop's main objective is to maximize profits in order to fund these initiatives. In its 34-year-old history, it has donated $500,000 to outreach programs. The Shop also serves as a ministry devoted to building community and fellowship and providing resources for programs at Christ Church.

Nestled inside Christ Church, The Good News Shop is adorned with ideal gifts for Christmas, birthdays and special events including Baptisms, Confirmation and graduations. We offer free gift wrapping, so this really is the place for your one-stop shopping! The most rewarding attribute about this shop is that 100% of proceeds go back into the community, which is so needed in today's economy. We proudly feature books, cards, candles, lotions, jewelry, handbags, hats, decorative pillows, baby and children gifts, tabletop accessories, men's accessories, crosses, paper products, linens, food items and kitchen accessories. Please remember us first when you shop for that next gift.

Thank you,
The Good News Shop

Christ Church Gallery
The idea for All Saints' Gallery began in the early 1990's when Jo Rankin saw an art exhibit at Coventry Cathedral in England. At a later date, she presented the idea to Henry Parsley who said without hesitation "let's start the gallery!" Over the years, the gallery has grown and improved (Jo still remembers struggling to hang the art on chains attached to the cinder block walls). Today, with Margaret Salisbury and Murray Parker at the helm, a new group of local artists arrive each month with their work. The medium used is varied and can range from pencil, pastel, watercolor, oil to even collage. The paintings are sold through GOODNEWS with 30% of the sale price going to Mission Funding. Last year the gallery and the GOODNEWS "Artist of the Month" program contributed almost $9,000 to Mission Funding. The next time you are considering a painting, remember that any purchase will be a benefit to you and also to GOODNEWS.

Shop Cooler
Go from farmers market to fridge, with hours to spare in between. Keep your fresh produce cool with the assistance of the Shop Cooler. The non toxic PVC-and lead-free bag that you store in your freezer until you're ready to stroll. The "mini fridge" cools on all sides of the bag: no more melting ice packs or fear of food spoiling. Great to take on week-end trips. As featured in the Charlotte Observer and available at GOODNEWS for $26.95.

GOODNEWS TO GO
GOODNEWS TO GO is a new food program that was started this year. Each Monday and Tuesday volunteers meet in the church kitchen to assemble casseroles, soups and desserts to sell in GOODNEWS. Every recipe has been created and tested by church members with several of them based on recipes from our Christ Church Cookbook. Met with overwhelming success, the GOODNEWS Freezer has become our top selling category several months in a row. The freezer will be stocked through May of this year and then it will be empty for the summer. Starting in September, we would love to continue cooking and stocking the freezer...we just need some more volunteers! This commitment can be as little as once a month for two hours or as much time as you have to give. If you like to prep, cook or assemble we have a place for you that offers a wonderful opportunity for fellowship! Interested in helping? Contact Patty Lambert 704-756-5864 or pglambert@carolina.rr.com.
