Acolytes - All youth grades 8-12 are encouraged to become part of the worship service through direct participation as an acolyte. Each youth is part of a “team” with advisors and other youth. They are typically scheduled for one Sunday service a month. Training is required and provided by our Acolyte Advisors and Clergy.
Altar Guild - Trained members set up the altar for each Sunday service, special services, funerals and weddings. Serving includes setting the table, washing the dishes, polishing brass/silver, and trimming the candles – all efforts to keep our altar glorious. Each week 20 members support each service at Christ Church.
Chalice Bearers (Lay Eucharistic Ministers) - Trained Chalice Bearers assist in leadership of Sunday and weekday worship by reading the Prayers of the People and by administering the Holy Eucharist. Two training sessions are provided. LEM’s serve typically once monthly.

Lectors - Trained readers assist in leadership of Sunday and weekday worship by reading the Bible. Two training sessions are provided. Lectors typically read once a month.
Musicians - Parishioners are invited to become part of the Contemporary Band which plays during the 8:45am Contemporary Service. Rehearsals are Thursday nights from 7-9 pm. Band currently consists of drums, guitars, piano and singers. Musicians typically play twice a month.
Tellers - Following the 11:15 a.m. services, teams of two are needed to collect, count and record monies received in church services. Time commitment of one Sunday a month. Contact Chip Hemmingway, 704.383.3561, chip.hemingway@wachovia.com.
Ushers - Parishioners serve in this important ministry during at regular and special services. They assist with greeting, welcoming and seating of parishioners. Ushers typically serve once a month.
