Opportunities to Serve in Healthcare

Charlotte Community Health Clinic: Provides health care for low-income, uninsured individuals. Ministry opportunities include answering phones, providing medical services to patients (only in their area of expertise), and assistance with check-in. Dilworth Center for Chemical Dependency: Dilworth Center serves those who are addicted to alcohol or narcotics.

Hope Haven: Provides life skills for chemically dependant adults and families. Ministry opportunities include: organizing clothing closets, GED/computer tutoring, landscaping  projects, fundraising assistance, collection drives or serving food.

Regional AIDS Interfaith Network (RAIN): Seeks to transform lives through compassionate care and education while providing support to those living with HIV/AIDS.  Ministry opportunities include becoming part of a Christ Church CareTeam who will form relationships with a care partner, being a transportation volunteer for rides, being a one-time special project volunteer or being part of 11th Hour CareTeam to provide support for families and Care partners during end stages of disease.

Thompson Child & Family Focus: Thompson’s serves children who are at risk for social and academic failure. Ministry opportunities include: school tutoring, story time reading, gardening, bike repair, sewing, pet therapy program, mural painting and evening child care.
