Children 2 years old through 6th grade
Sunday School starts September 14 for the 2008-2009 School Year!
Classes meet each Sunday morning in the fall from 10:00 to 10:55.
Christ Church continues its strong tradition of offering a Sunday School program which ensures that our children are brought up in the Christian faith and life. Each class is led by a teaching team comprised of four lead teachers who are present almost every Sunday and two assistants who help add the hands and hearts needed to maximize learning.
When you join the parish, your children are automatically enrolled in Sunday School. Children are assigned to classrooms based on age and gender. Prior to the beginning of Sunday School, you will receive a postcard listing your child’s room assignment and teaching team members.
The curricula at each grade level are as follows:
-
Preschool -3rd graders use the Live B.I.G. (Belief in God) curriculum. Live B.I.G. has a BIG idea, Bible Verse, and theme for each month. It also provides parents’ pages so your child will have a brief description of the lesson shared each day.
-
4th and 5th graders use a combination of the Live B.I.G. curriculum and the Episcopal Children’s Curriculum (ECC).
-
6th graders use a combination of several curricula to give these “tweens” something to bridge the experience between the elementary program and Journey to Adulthood.
We also offer music during part of the Sunday School hour twice a month. It is led by a group of dedicated parishioners and is vital to our program. Children learn Christian songs and hymns which bring variety to their Sunday School time and prepare them for participation in worship services.
