Christ Episcopal Church is a healthy congregation of 3600 in the heart of the Myers Park community in Charlotte, N.C. We are the church home for over 500 6th-12th graders but we do not have the staff to meaningfully engage such a large group of young people. We are building that team now!
- The position we are currently trying to fill is that of a full time Youth Minister.
- We are looking for someone who feels called to this ministry not someone who “needs a job in the mean time.”
- Our young people need a mature, responsible, faith-filled person who is able to connect with them on a meaningful level and lead them into fruitful ministries of their own.
- With the support of an Associate Rector for Youth Ministry, Program Coordinator and various administrative support, we hope this position will offer the ability to spend the majority of your work time with the teens.
- With a congregation this size, organization and communication skills are very important as is the ability to recruit volunteers and delegate responsibilities.
Exemplary Youth Ministry is a constant pursuit for the entire parish at Christ Church. Youth Ministers and volunteers are respected by the parish and given the resources that they need to create and maintain a meaningful program.
