Education

Adult Spiritual Formation classes began on September 19 and we have several groups doing books studies. The following books are available in Jenny Beaumont’s office. Stop by and get your copy!

• Shaping the Next Generation, David and Elaine Atchinson: Family Focus will began their fall discussion of this workbook on September 19 in room M207/208. This resource provides Christian parents the basic information, motivation and tools to help shape the spiritual character of their children. This is an opportunity to apply biblical principles to parenting and instill godly character in our children’s lives. Contact Beth Bowen or Connell Pinkney with questions.

• John-The Way to True Life: This small group Bible study will meet each Sunday in the Parlor. Our guide is a book based on John 20:31. Together we focus on the study of scripture as we seek to continue to grow in our knowledge of and relationship to Jesus Christ. We then apply that to our daily lives to discern how we might better be true disciples of Christ. Contact Lynn Muller, Eric Sheridan with question or for more information.

The Jesus I Never Knew, Philip Yancey: This book study meets Sunday mornings on October 14, October 28, November 4 and November 11 in the Blue Room. Jenny Beaumont will lead us in our discussions. Each session will stand on its own, so drop in as you can.• Experiencing God: Knowing and Doing the Will of God, Henry T. Blackaby and Claude V. King: This group meets Sunday mornings in M206. The class Discerning God’s Will, is a small group study of the book Experiencing God. Relationship to God is the key to this study. Everyone is welcome no matter where you are on you spiritual journey, and you don't need to attend every class to be able to follow and contribute in class. Please contact David Straut, Bob Cramer or Lynn Purdum with any questions.

• When You Need A Miracle, Experiencing the Power of the God of the Impossible (formerly Lord of the Impossible) by Lloyd John Ogilvie: Meets Wednesday Nights 6:46-7:45 p.m. beginning September 12. As we journey through Ogilvie’s book, Christ Church will welcome Rev. Steve Eason, Barry Leventhal, Davis Kuykendall, Dr. James Howell and Lloyd John Ogilvie, who will give us their perspectives on one of these Old Testament characters.
