Don't Miss the Christmas Pageant!
Sunday, December 19
11:15 am, All Saints' Hall
This year, we have the wonderful opportunity to return to an in person Christmas Pageant for all to enjoy. This will include our third graders as cast, and members of the St. Nicolas choir and Music Club will accompany the cast members with songs during the Pageant.
Registration is required for any third grader who would like to be part of the pageant. Registration opens at 12 noon on November 4 and closes at 12 noon on December 4.
On Sunday, December 5 during the 10 am Sunday School class, Sarah Ford, Director of Children and Family Ministry, will meet with all the third graders who have registered to participate to go over pageant information and draw for roles in the pageant. See below for a full list of required practice dates and times for all third graders participating. Please, parents, block your family calendar now so you have this information.
Cast roles for the 3rd graders include: narrators (who read sections of the story), short speaking roles (memorize 6 - 10 lines), brief speaking roles (memorize 1 - 2 lines), and non-speaking roles.
3rd Grader Required Practices (full allotted times):
- Sunday, Dec. 5: 10 - 10:55 am, U306, Sunday School classroom.
- Sunday, Dec. 12: 12:30 - 2 pm (lunch provided), Green Room drop-off; All Saints' Hall pickup.
- Saturday, Dec. 18: 9:30 - 11:30 am, All Saints' Hall
Younger children in a 4-year-old through 2nd grade Sunday School class are invited to dress as angels and shepherds and feel a part of the pageant as the ensemble, watching the story of Jesus' birth unfold from their seats with parents and grandparents and then joining from the aisles to sing the last song. One required practice of Saturday, December 18, 10:45 - 11:30 am for this group. We will provide a video of the music to help your children learn the song.
When families arrive on Dec. 19, the ensemble members (4s through 2nd grade) are welcome to pick up a shepherd's tunic and headpiece or an angel's wings and halo for younger children to borrow for the morning. You may put the costume on your child over his/her clothing so that they feel part of the story. During the last song, Go Tell It on the Mountain, our younger angels and shepherds will join in from the aisles of All Saints' Hall to sing this glorious song and help bring the pageant to a close. After the service, return the items to the boxes left in the hallways. Registration for our younger ensemble members is below. We ask parents to also sign up to assist with the pageant in some way. As a limited staff, we cannot host the pageant alone and we so appreciate our parent volunteers in this effort!! Parent Volunteer choices include: Cue Leader (need 6!), Photographer (need 2), Stage set-up (need 4). More details are on the registration page. Third grade parents are exempt from volunteer roles. Ensemble registration closed December 12 or until we reach spacing capacity restrictions for singing children.
All are welcome to join us at 11:15 am December 19 for a meaningful Pageant and to be reminded of the story of Jesus' birth and the hope he brings to us!
