Navigators

Navigators is a group for fourth and fifth grade students who gather each month to foster relationships and spiritual growth through service, fellowship, and FUN. Come NAVIGATE your faith with us!

Winter and Spring 2020 Schedule

Mark your calendars now for these opportunities to build our Navigator community. With the exception of January, we will begin each Navigators event by attending 11:15 worship together, followed by lunch and afternoons filled with fellowship, service, and growing our faith.

Sunday, January 26
Navigators host RITI
4:00 - 6:00 PM
Our first event of 2020 will begin with service to others as we host Room in the Inn. We will serve as the set up crew by making beds, chefs as we prepare a meal, and hosts as we welcome our homeless neighbors and share a meal with them. To register your Navigator, click here.
***Additional parent volunteers will be needed for this event as we need evening and morning drivers as well as overnight hosts.

Sunday, February 23
Navigators Lenten Program
11:15 AM - 2:00 PM
Join fellow Navigators as we attend 11:15 Church together, enjoy Chef Mary's delicious Sunday Brunch Buffet, and take part in activities centered around the upcoming season of Lent. To register your Navigator, click here.

Sunday, March 22
Navigators support Safe Alliance
11:15 AM - 2:00 PM
Our March event will focus on service to others who are similarly aged. Even though we are unable to meet in person we ask that if you are still interested, you create Spring Break boxes for children fifth grade and under who are currently living at Safe Alliance's Clyde & Ethel Dickson Domestic Violence Shelter. A list of items for the boxes is listed below. We ask that the Spring Break boxes and/or games be dropped off with Sarah Ford at Christ Church by Wednesday, March 25 to be delivered to the shelter Thursday, March 26. We also invite you to sign up to bring one item from the game collection list by visiting the Sign Up Genius. This is a great service project for not just your Navigator but all children if you are looking for a family-friendly activity.

Suggested supplies for Spring Break boxes:

  • box, basket, bin, or pail to hold all goodies (ex: an Easter basket, small sand bucket, or mesh bin)
  • items to decorate a temporary living space (door hangers, blank party banners, a canvas, or nameplate)
  • coloring books and crayons, colored pencils, or markers
  • small notepads or notebooks and pencils
  • play dough, kinetic sand, putty, or play foam
  • sensory items
  • snacks (gold fish, animal crackers, Lance crackers, veggie straws, etc.)
  • small bottle of water

Sunday, April 26
Stay tuned for more information!

Parent Chaperones are needed at every event! It is our hope that all Navigator parents have the chance to join us at least once during the year to help out and see what it's all about.
