Music for Children & Youth

Children's Choir Camp    

August 13 - 15, 2021

Choir Camp is a fun and educational time for current and prospective choristers. The Christ Church Choir Academy is open to all rising first through eighth graders regardless of religious affiliation. Camp will offer excellent music and liturgical education using the Royal School of Church Music (RSCM) curriculum and an exciting time of team building and exploring together!

Choir Camp Schedule

  • Friday: 2:30 - 4:30 pm
  • Saturday: 9 am - 3:30 pm (Breakfast provided)
  • Sunday: 9:45 am Rehearsal; 10:30 am Sing in worship

MUSIC CLUB

Pre-K & Kindergarten 

Pre-kindergarten (age 4) and kindergarten students learn the basics of making music and healthy singing by playing musical games. Music Club includes the Orff approach, combining music, movement, drama, and speech into lessons that are similar to a child’s world of play.

For Children's Choir will return, in-person, in August 2021!

Rehearsals: Wednesdays beginning August 18 at 5:00-5:30pm
Services:
Participation in 8:45am Eucharist (once quarterly)


St. Nicolas Choir: Grades 1 - 5 

St. Nicolas Choir, for children in grades 1 - 5, is based on the Royal School of Church Music training plan. Choristers prepare music for worship while learning the basics of music reading, vocal skills, liturgy and teamwork. Repertoire contains scripture and poetry that teach the beliefs and principles of our faith. Choristers use movement and experiential learning to explore their own artistic abilities and to discover the joys of teamwork.

Children's Choir will return, in-person, in August 2021! 

Rehearsals: Wednesdays beginning August 18 at 5:00-6:30pm
Services: Participate in the 8:45am Eucharist (twice monthly)


 

ARTS+  

Since 2013, ARTS+ (formerly Community School of the Arts) has partnered with Christ Church to offer piano, violin, and harp lessons to children from all over the city. The school concentrates on instruction in music and the visual arts with the mission and belief that outstanding arts education should be available to all.
