Vacation Bible School

June 17 - 20, 2019
This annual summer event includes four days of learning and fun for four-year-olds through rising fifth graders. It is always a highlight of the year for participants and leaders alike! Children younger than four may attend when a parent is onsite volunteering, so join us even if you have young children! Learn more and register here »

Fourth Grade Bible Presentation

Each year, children in our fourth grade Sunday School classes work on learning the books of the Bible. Bibles will be presented on Sunday, April 28 at the 8:45 AM Contemporary Service to those who have chosen to participate or who would like to receive a Bible.

Blessing of the Backpacks

We celebrate and bless the beginning of another school year during this special liturgy held on the fourth Sunday of August. Start the school year off right with this Christ Church tradition. Children, youth and adults are invited to bring school bags, lunch boxes, preschool totes, or briefcases to either of the 10:30 AM worship services, where clergy will bestow special prayers and blessings on the bags and those who carry them. This is a wonderful way for students of all ages to center their hearts and minds as we embark on a new academic year.

EPEC is a support group for parents of children with special needs, disabilities, learning differences, or developmental delays. The purpose of EPEC is to create a safe space for parents to discuss their experiences, share ideas, and provide spiritual, mental, and emotional support to each other. Learn more »

Communion education

This class is a wonderful opportunity for parents and children in Kindergarten through 4th grade to learn more about the traditions surrounding the Eucharist, led by clergy and the Director of Children, Youth and Family Ministry. Lunch will be provided to class participants. Childcare for younger siblings is available by reservation on the registration. This class is designed for parents to attend with their children. Check back for specific date and registration information for 2019 (registration will be required).

Winter Family retreat at kanuga

We enjoy a fun weekend of learning and fellowship with other Christ Church families at the beautiful Kanuga Conference Center. Plan now to join us over Presidents' Day Weekend in 2020. You won't want to miss it!

Family Fellowship Events

Our children's ministry commission hosts a family fellowship event at least once a semester to allow families to come together in their spiritual home to build relationships and community. Our last event, Family Bingo Night, was a huge hit! Watch for other opportunities to get together with Christ Church families.

Southern Soirée

Each year, we enjoy a fabulous evening of food and fun at Christ Church, all to support ministries with children. This year, funds raised the night of April 5 are going toward the renovation of the playground, as well as shared with Charlotte Bilingual Preschool.  We thank everyone who attended and hope that you enjoyed the evening of fun.

Advent Festival

Join us the Sunday after Thanksgiving as we enjoy an inter-generational celebration to prepare us for the season of Advent! Families are invited to make Advent wreaths and Jesse Tree ornaments, or pack toiletry bags for Room in the Inn neighbors. It is a great way to start the Advent season and spend time together.

Fall Fest / Pints for a purpose

This adults only event is a great opportunity to get to know current and future parents of Christ Church at an informal night of fellowship, sponsored by the Nursery Committee.

These are our Bodies

(Formerly "He, She, We, and God")
This weekend workshop is a unique opportunity to place the gift of sexuality within the context of our Christian Faith. The program is designed especially for our fifth grade "tweens" (not yet teenagers, they are in be"tween") and their parents, led by parishioners who are committed to making a connection with the tweens and helping them see that our community is interested in them during these important years of growth and change. Registration is required ($75) and opens in early fall, with very limited space in each session.

Christmas Pageant

The whole parish enjoys this annual reenactment of the miracle of the birth of Jesus by the children of Christ Church, with our third graders serving as the main cast. Learn more »

A Night in Bethlehem

This very special and meaningful interactive experience is for all ages, a drop-in experience of what it might have been like in Bethlehem on the night of Jesus' birth, with live animals and other activities.
