Jubilee Store

Join us for this joy-filled way to brighten the season with and for others.

What is the Jubilee Store?

The Jubilee Store is a new holiday outreach opportunity for Christ Church, in partnership with Charlotte Family Housing and neighboring churches. We will live into Charlotte Family Housing’s mission to help families achieve self-sufficiency and housing stability, while getting to know their incredible families.

Partner churches purchase and donate gifts throughout November, and these gifts are used to create a reduced-cost holiday store for Charlotte Family Housing’s families. These formerly homeless families work together with their case managers and our parishioners to plan their purchases to meet their financial goals. The Jubilee Store includes entertainment for children of CFH families, dinner, and gift wrapping. All in all, it is a great way to be a part of ending family homelessness and forming new, boundary-breaking friendships.

The store will be open for CFH families to shop on Saturday, December 8, 5:30 – 7:30 PM and Sunday, December 9, 2:30 – 4:30 PM.

Why the Jubilee Store?

Christ Church bid farewell to a much-loved Advent service opportunity last year: our Duff, TN Gift Ministry. Incredibly, Christ Church had been taking part in the Duff gift-wrapping event for almost 30 years. In that time, we had the privilege of touching the lives of generations of Duff, TN families. But over the life of our wonderful Duff ministry, Charlotte has changed and so have we. Through the shared reflections of parishioners, it became increasingly clear that we ought to focus our efforts on those within our own community. In response to this shared reflection, Christ Church is partnering with Myers Park United Methodist Church and Myers Park Presbyterian Church to support the Jubilee Store this year.

What can I do?

Donate Gifts by December 2: Find a gift tag in the narthex and in All Saints’ Hall, which lists a gift for you and your family to purchase and return to Christ Church by December 2. We invite you to include your family in the gift-buying process and to reflect together on what it means to celebrate Christ’s Advent by drawing closer to those who have been marginalized.

Don’t have time to shop? Consider purchasing from our Amazon wish list. Or consider donating funds to Christ Church marked “Jubilee Store.”
