Hope Teams

Have you been looking for a way to become more deeply involved in ending poverty and homelessness in Charlotte? If so, joining a Hope Team through Charlotte Family Housing (CFH) might be for you!

Hope Teams provide an opportunity for volunteers interested in long-term engagement with a family moving from homelessness to housing. Teams are generally comprised of three to six Christ Church parishioners. Each team is matched with one family to provide support and encouragement by building relationships as guided by the CFH Social Worker and Hope Team Manager.

Charlotte Family Housing will host its first Hope Team training, "Working Together," on February 24, 9:30 AM - 1:00 PM. It will be held on the third floor of St. John's Baptist Church in the Charlotte Family Housing offices, 300 Hawthorne Lane. For more information or to register, please contact Josiah Daniels at

Each Hope Team is unique, providing tailored non-financial support to their partner family. This might include emotional encouragement, financial and career advice, or simply providing a friendly ear. Our Hope Teams partner with residents of the Christ Church duplexes as well as other families in the CFH housing program. The relationships formed are so life-changing that 90% of CFH families maintain relationships with their Hope Team after graduating.
