Youth Council is a leadership opportunity for high school students to serve the Church community through a variety of ways while deepening their relationship with God and each other. All high school students are invited to apply!
Below are some of the leadership roles Youth Council served this past year:
- Serve on the Youth Commission
- Serve on the Outreach Commission
- Host the All Youth Fall Kick-Off in September
- Participate in all aspects of Youth Sunday
- Assist at church-wide events like Trunk-or-Treat and Parish Day
- Create Lenten devotions for Instagram
- Prayer Partners
- Participate in Life Group and EYC
- Organize Outreach events and activities: Rama Reads - an after school program at Rama Road Elementary School and Feeding Hope Food Drive for Loaves and Fishes
Youth Council has built a close-knit community at our monthly meetings where we share a meal together, have meaningful conversations, and plan our next events. We are grateful for the Youth Council members' active involvement in parish-wide events, with huge thanks to their adult leaders: Steve Garbee, Sylvia Wood, Nancy Poe, and Alice deVries.
If you have any questions about Youth Council, feel free to email Alice deVries at .
Each June, a group of 10th grade pilgrims and leaders set out on a journey to reflect on one’s relationship with God, self, and other. In the past, Pilgrimages have been to Alaska, Canada, Ireland, Belize, Wales, Camino de Santiago and Croatia. This year, we are inviting 10th AND 11th grade pilgrims to go on the pilgrimage.
We are excited to announce our 2022 Youth Pilgrimage to Juneau, Alaska, June 9 - 17, 2022!
REGISTRATION DEADLINE: October 15, 2022 (Commitment Form + non-refundable $250 deposit)
Pilgrimage Gatherings (selected Sundays, 12:30 - 2:30 pm, beginning and ending at Christ Church)

Youth Pilgrimage Autobell Fundraiser
Our 10th and 11th grade pilgrims are going to Juneau, Alaska this June. They will be selling Autobell gift cards on the Rotunda Porch on Sunday, December 5 and 19. The gift cards make wonderful stocking stuffers or Christmas gifts so get your list ready, and come support our youth on these Sundays. Email Betsy Parkhurst with any questions at
Congratulations to the class of 2021! We can't wait to see what happens in your next chapter! Always remember that Christ Church is here for you and will remain your spiritual home.
