Youth Council is a leadership opportunity for high school students to serve the Church community through a variety of ways while deepening their relationship with God and each other. All high school students are invited to apply!
Below are some of the leadership roles Youth Council served this past year:
- Served on the 2019-2020 Youth Commission
- Hosted the All Youth Fall Kick-Off in September
- Organized Rama Reads - an after school program at Rama Road Elementary School
- Helped with Christ Church Outreach projects including painting at Moore's Place and distributing supplies to Rama Road Elementary School
- Participated in all aspects of Youth Sunday in March
- Assisted at Sunday Suppers and Life Group
Youth Council has built a close-knit community at our monthly meetings where we share a meal together, have meaningful conversations and plan our next events.
We are so grateful to our youth leaders for their active involvement in our parish-wide events. Adult leaders are Steve Garbee, Sylvia Wood, and Alice deVries.
Each year in June, 10th grade pilgrims and leaders set out on a journey to reflect on one's relationship with God, self, and other. In the past Pilgrimages have been to Canada, Alaska, Belize, Wales, Ireland, Camino de Santiago and Croatia.
Due to the COVID-19 virus, we do not have plans to take a Pilgrimage in 2021. When it is safe to travel, we will plan our next Pilgrimage, and look forward to sharing another wonderful experience with our 10th grade students.
Congratulations to the class of 2020! We can't wait to see what happens in your next chapter! Always remember that Christ Church is here for you and will remain your spiritual home.
