Christ Church offers a short-term mission experience for rising 9th - 12th graders and adults each summer at Glory Ridge, a mission camp in Madison County, NC. Groups serve the local community by doing repairs on homes and being present with the people who live there. This trip is a great chance to bond and serve together. On Friday night, we go to The Depot in downtown Marshall for some good old mountain bluegrass! We invite the Mr. or Mrs. Fix-it of your house to come as a volunteer and help guide the youth on the job sites alongside the Glory Ridge summer staff. It's a wonderful way to serve as a family. From the time of the very early Church until today, Christians have made pilgrimages to holy places as a part of their discipline and life of faith. Long before the notion of vacations, holidays, and mission trips, individuals within the Christian tradition set out to see the places where our Lord and his saints walked, slept, prayed, and preached the Good News. We invite our tenth graders to journey on a pilgrimage each year.
Our 2017 youth pilgrimage will journey to Wales, June 12 - 19. Contact Adam Klevenhagen for more information.
Each summer our rising tenth graders embark on a three-day "Urban Adventure" in Washington, DC. Students learn to navigate a large city and travel outside their comfort zone. Our 2017 adventure will be June 8 - 10. Read Mary Clark's reflection on the 2015 adventure »
